Saw this place on my way to the dentist, and gave it a try last night. This is located on Stacy Rd in McKinney, just west of Alma, at the same strip mall where the Collin County GOP office is. (Disclaimer: I am not party affiliated, but the GOP office is at the front of the shopping center you can't miss it.)
It's a small place, with about 10 tables. The sushi bar has no seating, being such a small place. When I got there late on a Monday night, there's only one other table, but while I was there, there were a few take out orders waiting. The waiter's service was very good. Well what I considered good is when the waiter takes care of me without me waiting too long, at the same time not trying to be my best friend chatting up too much so I get to enjoy my meal. He met my standard!
I only ordered sushi last night. They also have a decent appetizer menu and some cooked items from the kitchen. But I was by myself last night so I couldn't try them. I was really happy to see that they offered hand rolls, which is rice and sushi wrapped in a sheet of seaweed like an ice cream cone. I haven't had that since I moved to Dallas, as I haven't seen it offered at the Japanese restaurants I go to in the area. My husband is not a sushi eater, so the maki's that come in six to eight pieces per order limits the variety I get to try each time. The hand rolls worked out really good for me.
Overall the fish were fresh and the prices were reasonable. I will have to bring my husband next time and try other stuff too. I hope this place will stay around. If you want to have some hand rolls give this place a try. Oh, it's BYOB too.
