Gary. Are you the same Gary - Gary Stocker - who lost the election over the Bus Barn issue last year?
Way off topic. Please move on.

Hmmm, a brand new user with the same inflammatory style as another poster on the board....
I'm all for listening to all sides of a topic, but when you just bash and throw out perceived opinions without support - you're just another one talking to the hand.
That is not fair to the new member. Please move on.

Questioning the identity of a new member because you don't like their post is the same as attacking the new member.
Some of you step out of line and it is obvious what your agenda is. This is my last attempt to ask you stop taking these shots at other members.
Move on already. You are just as wrong as the people you complain about.

Functional capacity is a big deal. Beth Nicholas and Mark Tarpley defined functional capacity as the level that when surpassed will result in a reduction of programs.

How did the turn out for early voting go. Was it small or big?

No, recording unfortunately. Would have been good to have a recording though. Also the only person who thinks Lowery is not a major issue and can be solved with "programming" was the current Board President. The remaining candidates Wayne Boline, Jimmy Trotter, and Mark Jones felt that Lowery is a major issue that needs funding and addressing.
I think the recording of the forum is here:

I watched that link (posted by fuzzy in a different thread) and didn't leave with the impression that any of the candidates were less concerned about Lowery than any of the others. Perhaps one of the more awkward moments was when Ross had to excuse himself because he had another commitment. Had that been one of the school board candidates, I bet we'd have a field day here.

Just got back from voting. No line at all this morning. Think I might have been the 4th one there so far this am.

Master and Trotter win big. Looks like about 2,100 voters.

The voters have spoken loudly. Congrats to Louise and Jimmy.
Mark, thank you for your service.
Wayne and Paul... thank you for caring enough for the district to throw your hats into the ring.

I'm always surprised by the relative insignificant percentage of people that vote, but I shouldn't be. It's the same every time (non presidential at least).

I agree, but on the positive side, I think it's a reflection of overall satisfaction with our city government and school board. If people were truly dissatisfied with how things were going, they'd turn out in droves.

What I think is funny is that the Mayor received 3133 votes unopposed and Place 2 had the same total votes. Add in more voters from Parker and Lucas that could not vote for city officials and the vote total is now only 2850 for each ISD place. I would have thought that everyone that can vote for city officials in Allen would have been able to vote for ISD... though I know not the other way around.

Portions of Allen are in the Lovejoy ISD so that would explain the smaller number of voters for the Allen ISD election.

Portions of Allen are also in the Plano ISD area so that could be another reason for the difference in voter turnout between the two entities.
Allen ISD also has areas in Parker, Lucas and McKinney. These areas are less densely populated than the core area of AISD.

I'm always a little puzzled over the "time voted blank" number. I can understand in an uncontested race that it's basically a NO vote. But for the others, did the voter only show up for one or another thing on the ballot and blow off the rest? I think all races are important, that's why I try to read up and make at least a half-way educated choice.
