I thought there was something in the city's sign ordinances that said they had to be picked up within a couple of days or something like that. Those who lose seem to not care and those who win have no excuses.

I'm always surprised by the relative insignificant percentage of people that vote, but I shouldn't be. It's the same every time (non presidential at least).
I agree, but on the positive side, I think it's a reflection of overall satisfaction with our city government and school board. If people were truly dissatisfied with how things were going, they'd turn out in droves.
Read this, http://www.dallasnews.com/news/columnists/james -ra... and then say that again with a straight face......
While the article is primarily about Dallas it certainly is applicable to Allen just as much.

After all the wrangling and discussion on this election topic, did anyone change their minds?
I didn't exactly change my mind, but I did end up changing my vote. If you changed your mind, why?
In my case, I talked directly with the candidate and decided he would be a good board member. I liked the other choice, too, which made the decision harder. I decided that I wanted to encourage future good candidates (or even past good candidates) to give it a try. It has to be tough to put your ego on the line, as well as a lot of work and expense.
I thank all of the candidates for offering to serve.
Two plus two equals five, for sufficiently large values of two.

I did not know who I was going to vote for. This thread did help inform my vote. With that said, I wish the discourse had been more civil. Half of the time spent on this thread felt like a waste of time.

I'm always a little puzzled over the "time voted blank" number. I can understand in an uncontested race that it's basically a NO vote. But for the others, did the voter only show up for one or another thing on the ballot and blow off the rest? I think all races are important, that's why I try to read up and make at least a half-way educated choice.
I can understand your sentiment, but not all elections are races. In this past election, Steve Terrell was running unopposed. Many will consider it not important to cast a vote in an already decided election. Some may have withheld their vote to show disapproval, since they didn't have an opposition to consider. There are acceptable reasons for a blank vote.
