They already have helicopters in the area. What info I can find tells me it is structural "issues"

Seems like a $60m high school stadium should be free from issues for a very long time.

I just received an e-mail that said home football games will likely be affected as well.

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/24842678/allen- isd-p...

From the article:

The cracks were reportedly noticed just before the stadium's Aug. 2012 opening.

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/24842678/allen- isd-p...

From AISD:

In the release, Allen ISD board president Louise Master says today's decision came out of "an abundance of caution."

"Our No. 1 priority must always be the safety of our students, staff and community," she said. "We do not have information at this point that confirms any areas outside of the concourse could be affected, but the most prudent thing to do, to absolutely assure the safety of students, staff and the community, is to keep the facility closed during this review."

When did they know of these cracks???????

I understand Ben Pogue is a good ole boy from the local community who has extensive history building schools, churches, and stadium renovations but I don't see any history of him building an entire stadium (only renovations). I'm a bit concerned now...

From that article:
The same architect and building contractor are working on construction of the school district’s $36 million service center, which is just underway. That facility will house Allen ISD’s transportation, facilities maintenance, food service and other operations. District officials said an independent review of that project is underway and any potential issues can be identified and addressed if necessary.

Just great...

In the construction industry, concrete issues are fairly common. I'd rather wait for the analysis results than to speculate on who or what went wrong.

Wonder why Pogue gets all the public construction contracts around here????

Hmmm

According to the latest release, it will definitely affect graduation this year and likely to affect next years football home games.

What a waste of the taxpayers' dollars. The big stadium that some of us voted NO on is now shut down until further notice due to cracks. We better not have our taxes increased to pay for the shoddy job. The contractor better pay. Someone should be fired for this fiasco.

I don't have kids and I'm mad that I have to pay for that ....
