Apparently someone tipped off the media and we had to come out immediately with an announcement. They were only 10% complete with the report but since word got out they made the decision to make an announcement. So much for 'safety first', right? Worried about the media...
In the end, it's better this gets out so the contractor has every incentive to see it through.
Yes, sources please. I can guess, since the emails were originally between the interim superintendent and the board members, but I'd like to know for sure.

Wonder why Pogue gets all the public construction contracts around here????
Uh ... because they usually do a good job? Just guessing here based on how well the elementary schools they've built for AISD are holding up year after year.
I wonder who Pogue contracted to do the structural work where the cracks are showing up.

The Stadium was not designed to support back-to-back state championships.

looks like the stadium needs partial tear down.

I hope they don't just put a bandaid on the issue and kick the can down the road. It needs to be fixed like new by the builder.

I agree that they should go with the partial tear down and rebuild the damaged part correctly. However... I don't see Pogue standing by this one. If they need to rebuilt that much of the stadium I can only imagine it will cost millions. Doubtful Pogue will be able to push this off on the cement contractor since they would simply file for bankruptcy.
Whatever they choose hopefully it repairs the stadium in a manner that makes it last a very long time.

I bet Pougue's response will be - Dude, I got a knarly roll of duct tape and some spackle. A couple of 6 packs and a weekend and that baby will be as good as new.
The fight is going to transfer from who is to blame to how extensive a repair should be made. Pougue will fight for a quick fix and say that is all it is legally responsible to provide. This will get ugly. What Allen needs to do is garner the help of our surrounding communities to put pressure on Pougue with a "CURE LETTER" collectively between Allen, Frisco, Plano and McKinney. A cure letter would bar Pougue from any further work until the problem is resolved.

If his insurance only covers duct tape and bailing wire, I wonder what his tune will be then.
And what if the insurance doesn't cover incompetent construction?
We all hope its going to be a smooth, easy, just get it done fix at no cost to the taxpayer, but until I see that, I'm not holding my breath.
Millions upon millions of dollars are now involved. And that brings out the worst in men.
No one has taken responsibility that I can see, just some broad reassurances that are way premature to reality of looking at a multi-million dollar cost that someone will be on the hook for.

Here is an interview with Ben Pogue:
http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Pogue-Cons tructio...
Honestly, there is too much at stake here for Pogue or one of the subcontractors to do anything less than make this right. This is a building that has gotten national attention and not handling this in a way that makes all stakeholders comfortable would probably result in contractors being blacklisted.

Pogue will say the right thing now, but he is thinking spackle and epoxy. When this becomes a $15 Million removal and repour let's see how cooperative he becomes.
He is in damage control mode right now, but he soon will be in survival mode.
Maybe he should throw in seat backs for free.

I'm feeling really good about above ground fuel tanks that will sit above and below structures built by this same company. Wish we could re-bid the Barn.

Now is the time that Pogue will be doing their best work. Allen ISD shows that they can draw the attention of the media, and not just local media.

A rebid on the service center would not impact the general contractor. That process occurred earlier. I would guess everyone working on the service center will be extra diligent given the attention the stadium is receiving.

It was tongue in cheek, mostly. Pogue needs to be served notice that this situation will follow their company in every bid they place in the future. Eyes need to be watching closely how this is resolved.
