There are a lot more families growing their own vegetables and always questions of what to plant and when to plant. The Collin County Master Gardeners put together a very helpful list of recommended vegetable varieties. So, what vegetables are growing in your garden now? Did you plant your cool season vegetables yet? That would include onions, greens, broccoli, kale, cabbage, chard, potatoes, etc.
Have you started seedlings for tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and other warm season vegetables or do you plan on buying transplants at the nursery?

Surprised by the list of tomatoes. I don't recall seeing any of those varieties sold locally at any of the bigbox stores.
Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of a cancer cell.

You will have better luck finding them at local nurseries or starting them from seed. It is probably a little late to start from seed this year, but maybe next. They should be started in January.

Too late for the first crop of tomato, but you can wait until summer to plant the late fall crop by seed.
I would be picking up seedlings now and growing them out in the greenhouse. Tomatoes cannot stand temps below 45 degrees

I am going to try cucamelons this spring. These look like grape-sized watermelons, but they are supposed to taste like a cucumber with a touch of lemon.

I started my seeds indoors last week and they are just sprouting. I plan to put them in a big pot or whiskey barrel with a trellis once we're past any frost dangers. I'm not much of a gardener, but I'm really intrigued by these and hope they grow!
