I have a red oak tree in my backyard that I am concerned about. It's showing signs of stress. Can anyone recommend a good tree doctor / arborist?

This is the company we recently used for our trees: http://www.advancedtreecareinc.com/
Their arborist will come out to inspect your tree and make recommendations. Their crew did a good job at trimming our trees this past winter. This company is based in Fairview.
There is also http://www.arborilogical.com/ These folks have been around for a long time. They are located in Wylie.
You are smart to ask for arborist rather than a landscaper - big difference in hiring a certified arborist to work on your trees versus a company that mows lawns and maintains shrubs, flower beds, etc.

Thank you Denise. I'll try your recommendation. The oak tree is fairly young - hopefully the arborist will have some good ideas as to what we can do to make her well again.

What type of stress on your red oak? I'm curious because I have a red oak also.
