Today we are in the risk area, this will be a pretty active weather day but fortunately for us the bulk of that will be elsewhere. There is a good chance of damaging winds and large hail with storms that form along the dryline by midday, so be sure to keep an eye on the weather and have your favorite weather station tuned in to stay aware of the developing weather. Make sure you weather radios are on and in alert mode and if you have a smartphone, make sure you have at least one weather app on your phone that can send you push messages to warn you of weather near your location.

Categorical Threats:
Hail: 15%
Wind: 15%
Tornado: 2%

There are a couple of severe cells that will pass to our north but they are producing strong winds, lightning and good size hail. Any cells that pop up will likely reach severe status quickly so be mindful of the sky today if you have any outdoor activities planned. Nothing looks to affect us at this time but that can change quickly. We are under a Tornado Watch until 9pm and the tornado threat has increased to 5% from 2%.

Tornado Watch until 9PM and Tornado threat increased slightly to 5%.

Yep, had some golf balls at my house too. Sorry I wasn't able to post more but I was tied up at the Americans game and was unable to post during the game.

That one cell that dropped those hail stones is still chugging along and producing another tornado at this time. Scope is clear to our west, so things should be quieter now.

Another storm just popped up to our south, it's not severe at this time but given how these storms reach severe criteria quickly it could do so but should move through just as quickly as well.

Disregard that one, it's turned SE away from us.

A friend of mine that lives by the stadium said they only got Golf Ball sized for about 30 seconds. I'm pretty sure it was like 5 minutes in West Allen. Crazy that it can be that different just on the other side of town

My van was at home (near Reed) and has dings. I was at church in east McKinney with hubby's car ('97 honda). It got no dings despite the hail that hit.
Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

Will work for shoes!

It sounded like ours was going to break but we were more fortunate than you.

I made a temporary repair with a product called "Quick Roof" that I picked up at an RV store in Plano. So far it's holding back the flood until I can find a suitable replacement skylight.

One thing for sure though... my rain barrels are full!
