Interesting read. A significant consideration, in my view.

Case in point.
Cliven Bundy owes 1.1 in fees to the BLM. 200 armed agents respond to confiscate his cattle.
Al Sharpton owes 1.9 million in taxes to the IRS. Barack Obama flies to NYC for a fundraiser at his invitation.

Well yeah, I would too. In fact, I have been suggesting that since and before I joined this forum - you may recall.
My point in posting is that I'm not convinced that enough people are aware of this at all... as they eat apple pie, watch baseball, wave their flags, sing the anthem, support sending young people off to die half way around the world, support the end of unions, support the demise of public education, and get and/or stay behind political movements that only serve the same interests that got us to this point.

Webster's definition: a country, business, etc., that is controlled by a small group of people
Haven't we always been in an oligarchy since the group of people who are supposed to control America are the few in DC? And the people that influence them have always been the rich. It was made worse when the Supreme Court said there is no limit on what a person and may contribute to their candidates. There's also the unlimited amounts via super pacs, etc.

The oligarchy is, for the most part, self-selected. Certainly it is at the grassroots level.

The United States of America: Welcome to oligarchy
It's been that way at all levels of government, especially at the local levels.

You appear to be laboring under the delusion that if more people voted then more elections would go your way. Who is to say the small percent who vote are not a valid subset of the whole population and most people just disagree with you?
Or maybe you are right and if more people voted then more elections WOULD go your way. In which case I have to say the oligarchy appears to be working swell.
