This caught my eye this morning. I wanted to see what everyone thought about it. Some groups such as apartments and HOAs are beginning to get a DNA sample from your pooch. If they find poop that was not picked up by the owner they test it and if it comes back as your dogs deed... they fine you.

This is a problem that is really irritating to some people and others don't see why it is such a big deal. For instance when I walk our dog I pick up the poop as I am one that gets irritated finding it in my yard from other dogs. My husband on the other hand doesn't see why it is such a big deal. We live next to an elementary school and people let their dogs loose on the play ground when school is not in session. So all the poop is what the kids get to play in, fall down and roll in, and step in. Our daughter lived in an apartment here in Allen for 2 years and the smell from all the dog poop was awful in certain areas. So I am a pooper picker-upper. But I do think the DNA thing goes a little too far. There are alot more problems we need to concentrate on in this day and age.

I agree the DNA thing seemed over the top.

That said, if I wanted my grandchildren to track dog poop into the house from the yard I would get a dog of my own.

I was just really struck this morning by the range of sad and serious issues on the front page of the DMN and this story with the dateline Allen. Such an odd juxtaposition. Really? This is front page news? We are truly blessed that we can afford to worry about things like this.
Raisin cookies that look like chocolate chip are the reason I have trust issues.
