Anyone know whats going on along HW75 with the road barriers (where the barriers are along the edge of the HW)?

Are they adding another lane? (hoping its not another stupid HOV lane)

adding lanes and re-doing ramps from Spring Creek to 121. Haven't heard anything about HOV lane but wouldn't be surprised if they extended it to 121

75 is being widened from 6 to 8 lanes from Spring Creek Parkway to 121 ( http://www.txdot.gov/inside-txdot/media-ce nter/local-news/dallas/05 8-2014.html ). It doesn't indicate that this include an extension of the HOV lane.

You'll get your wish. Managed Toll lanes coming soon. Now you can pay to drive, like everywhere else. Fools and their cars....

I'm not in favor of the managed toll lanes like the one on 635. I always wonder how we can keep track of what they're charging? For regular toll roads it will be on the news when NTTA raise the fares and the cost per mile. With the new toll lanes the rate changes "with traffic" and I have a feeling they can just quietly raise the rate.

If they're to make people pay, they should just make them express lanes, i.e. just one exit in Plano, Allen and McKinney. Most of the slow down is due to people switching lanes, cutting each other off and causing accidents. If there are no switching and frequent stops, traffic will move a lot smoother.

They are cutting down the trees because they take up too much water.

The managed toll lanes on 635 will have electronic signs stating what the tolls are in real time.

Now, as for how long you'll have to see the tolls before committing to the lanes, that remains to be seen. I forsee a lot of possibilities for accidents as people try to get in or out at the last minute.

It's called Dynamic Pricing, it's based on traffic congestion. The more cars on the road the higher the cost to ride in the lanes. A nunmber of states are moving to this model to generate revenue. Atlanta, Washington state Alameda California. Once your in at a particular rate lets say $1.00, you're locked in until the next exit and entry point. If it jumps or goes down while your in the lane your rate is still $1.00.
typo by me charlie....
