NWS has issued a Slight Risk for much of North, Central and East Texas with our area in the northern segment of the significant risk area. Storms, if they do fire, are expected in the mid to late afternoon hours into the evening as storms roll to the E/SE.
The biggest threats are large hail and damaging winds with a few tornadoes possible due to an expected conducive environment. So be mindful of the chances for severe weather today and secure all lawn furniture and other light objects outside.
We could end up seeing nothing or we could get some severe weather, since the forecast area is so vast but I wanted to post the heads up now. More updates, if necessary, will be posted later today.
Categorical Threats:
Hail: 15%
Wind: 15%
Tornado: 5%
