It's located just East of the new Black Walnut Café. Wife and kids and I enjoyed going there about two weeks ago. It's a small, quaint place. We had a pizza, calzone and calamari. All very good!. I kind of put it in the same vein as Pane Vino, Grimaldi's (although Grimaldi's pizza is slightly better) & Cavali's (McKinney).
If anyone has not gone to this place, they should at least give it one try!

We liked it very much. We went in thinking it was a pizza place. The owner told us their story and talked us into some of his favorite rustic Italian dishes. We enjoyed our meal and will be back.

We've eaten there a few times and like it. Similar to Pane Vino which we also like.

The accusations on here whenever someone posts something about businesses are getting old! Thanks to the OP for your post. I had not heard of this restaurant and plan to check it out.

Ate there last night. The food was wonderful. Prices a little on the high side but portions are large. Management knows their stuff ... no doubt. He even engaged our kids on their many questions about some of the dishes.

It took about a 2 second search to find out who owns this place and it appears the OP poster is just a fan. We'll have to try it out. Thanks julieanne!

Ignore him ... just another one of his "drive-by" postings.
Edit: Ah ... never mind. Looks like his post is gone.

We tried this restaurant Sat. evening and what a pleasant surprise it is. Their food is not the typical Italian food we find around here. Several dishes have papardelle noodles which we like and the sauces (gravies) are excellent as is the pizza.
The owner was very gracious and probably spent a little too much time with us. You can tell he is very passionate about his restaurant. He even served our bottle of wine and we got a short history lesson about where the grapes are grown. We even learned what "speck" is. Several staff members were being trained and they all did an excellent job.
The only thing we did was go too early. Lots of kids there. That was our fault. The guy playing the guitar and singing kept singing louder because the kids were getting louder so it was kind of funny.
The only suggestion I would have is that they need shades on their windows and something on the ceiling to absorb the noise. Maybe these are already in the works since it is rather new. We will definitely be back.

After seeing these post 3/5 of the family went last Tuesday. It was so good the whole family went back on Thursday. The food was wonderful and the pasta was perfect. The staff is extremely friendly. The owner is a really nice guy. We laughed about how picky my son is as he helped my son choose an entre. On Thursday they had a soloist singing Sinatra songs (not imitating just singing). He had a nice voice even had room to dance, but not at all intrusive.

Well, I thought I has posted a review here but it seems that it didn't post.
We went on Sunday and really enjoyed it. They have a lunch menu which is pared down version of the regular menu with several different Pizzas, Sandwiches, Salads and Pasta dishes along with a drink and a soup or salad for $10. That's hard to beat. My wife had a pizza and I had the lasagna. Both were excellent and were the normal dinner sized portions.
The decor/music were great we thought. Casual but classy and clean. The owner sat and chatted with us for a few minutes since we were the only ones in there. I mentioned Allen Online and he said I wasn't the first mention the forum and he expressed interest in advertising here. Hopefully we'll see a coupon or something soon.
We have a short list of "regular" restaurants that we like to patronize, including Pho Crystal and Chitos. We'll be adding Mio Monno to list. We really liked it. Food was excellent and service and atmosphere were top notch for this kind of place.

We tried it Saturday. Out of 10 stars we would give it a 5. We loved the atmosphere inside, even though it was weird being in a Italian place and hearing rap music. I got the Lasagna, it was good, large portion, didnt have alot of flavor, but good. Wife had the pepparoni pizza, she was not that impressed, but she likes thick pizza and this was so thin you could literally hold it up and see light through it, crust was burnt on ends. My biggest complaint was they dont have Dr. Pepper so I had to drink water, lol. Sorry, I love my Dr. Pepper. Kinda of weird, we walked in and sat down, they brought us water and never even asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. I do think the prices are a little too high and believe that will hurt them, but we will see. Im only comparing this to the prices of other locals like Joes, which is still our favorite for quality and prices. We like it enough we will go back and try different items next time. Im not the type who tried a place once and never goes back, nobody should.

Mio Nonno is in a different class than Joes, Italian Villa and Napolis. I don't believe they should be compared. My husband and I loved Mio Nonno's lasagna and thought that their food was very tasty, in fact very delicious! I think it is far way superior to any other Italian restaurant in Allen. This is true Italian food! But I realize that everyone has different taste and I do respect your opinion.

We went back for a second visit and everything was just as good as the first time. Wife got one of the Panini sandwiches and I got a pizza. I guess I like thinner crust pizza. I love the flavor of the wood fired oven in the bread and in the pizza crust.
We've not been for dinner, only lunch when prices are very reasonable. I might feel differently paying full price I dunno, but we really like this place.
We haven't been to Joe's but we tried Italian Villa once since one of my daughters friends started working there. I have to agree with Debbie, about not mentioning it in the same breath with Mio Nonno.

Excellent food. This is real Italian food. Having a nice drink is a huge plus also. Beats anything in Allen by a mile.
