Not sure if Kyler will be on the team. He is in Oregon at the Nike "Opening" which is a camp/competition for the nations top 18 QBs and other players. Since the big teams play Friday... not sure when that ends.
The teams they were broken into do the 7v7 today and you can follow the chat at:

I heard he is playing the 7 on 7 today and will fly back in time for the 7 on 7 here. He did not make the elite 11.

That was written yesterday and mentions things can change with 7v7.

He was not in Round 1 or Round 2 Elite 11 rankings... but I think, and so do the 247 Staff, believe he will excel today in 7v7. Good luck to him.
He is not out until final Elite 11.

They showed one of his 7 on 7 games last night on ESPNU and he looked great. He had an INT in his half but also scored. His coach only played 2 of his 3 QBs and he was the starter and then the one he chose for OT. Kyler scored on his first throw in OT to win the playoff game. Trent Dilfer seemed sure Kyler would easily move into the Elite 11 after the games. The new rankings should come out later this morning. Some of the top QBs did pretty awful once they were in a game scenario.
Apparently in the pool play the coach had 3 games and 3 QBs. Each one was to get a full game either by an entire game or two halves of two games. In the playoffs the coach gets to choose who plays. I like how Trent put it... "we told the players that life and Football are not fair so you may not play." At least they had 2 halves to be evaluated.

I saw the game, he started out a little sluggish, but after that interception he turned it up a notch. Its hard to go in with little practice and execute like that with players you dont know. Hope he gets picked.

Kyler is in Elite 11 at #6 after yesterdays 7 on 7 performance. Good job. Hopefully he can finish in Elite 11.

Well... his 7 on 7 team lost in the quarters... if I read that right. It does look like he finished 4th in the Elite 11 though. So out of the 18 QBs that attended he was 4th which is great. All depends on how you do in the camp. For instance he is the #1 rated Dual threat QB in the country. The #1 and #2 Pro style QBs, also top 2 recruits overall in the country, finished 8 and 11 in Elite 11.
Something to point out... the #1 in Elite 11 and MVP, Barnett, is 18 yrs/7mo going into his senior year. He will graduate at 19.5 years old. He has 1.5 years on the other Elite 11 players.

I like Kyler, he is a great kid and true talent, but he wasn't the 4th best performing QB at the event. He wasn't even the best performing on the 7on7 team he was placed.
He was ranked outside the top 11 going into 7on7 and then had more interceptions than half the other kids with less touchdowns, but he somehow jumped to number 4 on the final rankings.
I've seen some sports journalists giving "The Opening" analyst some grief over this on Twitter. They are all saying that the top 5 looks more like a rating of the schools the kids committed to rather than their actual performance.
I think he will be a great college QB, but he was far less consistent and showed some poor decision making early. He'll get that cleaned up.

Don't underestimate the need for ESPN to push the SEC by "boosting" the recruiting class.
Anyone remember Texas' "#1 national recruiting classes" 5 years in a row that resulted in poor performance a few years back.
These rankings are nothing but fodder for media to play up, shoot at or justify their idiot opinions of rankings and mock ratings.
The only ranking that matters is the score on the board not the headlines.

Truthfully, I dont payt any attention to the performance in the 7 on 7 at the elite ESPN stuff. You only get maybe a day or two to even practice with those players. The team that won the whole thing had a qb and a wide reciever that play on the same high school team together, so yea, they already had chemistry between them and scored lots of touchdowns out there. I was impressed that Kyler did not practice with the Allen 7 on 7 all week and they still made it to the final 8 teams this weekend at college Station. It will be interesting to see if he sticks with football or goes with baseball in college
