I'm considering two dance schools for my daughter. They are Cindy's School of Dance and Academy of Dance Arts. I really like both schools. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My daughter has attended Cindy's for the past 2 years. She has been very happy there.

Cindy's has been in business for longer than I have. She has a great reputation. Many of our students have gone to her and really enjoyed the expeience and learned a great deal from her.
Sorry I am not familar with the other school.

We drive all the way to Richardson so our girls can learn at Tuzer Dancenter. There are several other families in Allen who make that drive as well. Many of their students go on to make a career out of their dancing -- the Tuzers are both former professional dancers (I think with the Boston Ballet and Harkness). My girls danced in the Tuzer Ballet's Nutcracker!
Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

My daughters take ballet at the Allen Conservatory of Dance but my younger daughter took a jazz class at Cindy's. She enjoyed the class and I know many other parent's who's kids have attended Cindy's and loved it. From a parent perspective I thought the class was pretty good but not great. They had a tendency to start a couple minutes late and they had a student teacher teach the first half of the class. I do know that Cindy's has a very accomplished dance company that wins lots of awards at competitions. The good thing about Cindy's however is that kids don't have to be in company to take classes and enjoy the experience. I'm sorry I don't know anything about ADA.

The other issue I had with Cindy's had to do with the recital. The way they organized the recital was that the kids were supposed to come back stage a few numbers before theirs to get ready to go on. The good thing about that arrangement is that the kids get to see some of the other kids perform. The bad thing is that there are kids and parents up and down the aisles the entire show. As luck would have it, as my daughters number started I had a mom and kid standing right in front of me trying to get to their seat and I missed the first part of her performance. Personally I prefer to have the kids backstage during the whole show so that the parents can watch without a bunch of commotion. The other issue I had with the recital was that some of the spectators treated it more like a sporting event. They were hooting and hollering like it was a basketball game. I don't mean to sound really negative about Cindy's because I think in general they do a good job and many people really like them.

That always bugged me as well! Right before, and sometimes during, you had to deal with people yelling out names, whistling and so forth.
My daughter danced at Cindys (5 years) when she was younger. She enjoyed it while she was there.

My daughter took dance at Cindy's for 5 years when she was younger also! I liked their preschool classes because it combined ballet, jazz and tap. They learned a little of everything and having all three forms prevented the little girls from becoming bored. When they get to be about 7, they have to chose individual classes (like ballet only). If she hadn't decided to pursue a time-demanding sport, she'd probably be in their dance company today.
