Well in case you like watching for the Shuttle and/or the Space Station, more opportunities to see them are coming fast to a sky near you. Light, and other obstructions however do prevent this lots of times.
Also since the mission is cut short due to "Dean", the astronauts and their cinnamon basil seeds will come home early. Yep, you educators out there may want to share the opportunity for your students to design some special growth chambers? Have fun. And let those trapped motorists out on to Bethany some time.

I'm a little nervous about the shuttle return. I just don't trust those guys to say the spot on the shuttle is "safe" when we all know they consider cost first. I hope the bad spot on the shuttle really doesn't need to be fixed. I would have prefered to fix it anyway just to be on the safe side. At that speed and altitude (and heat), there are no second chances!

Two minutes to touchdown, and the shuttle is looking good.
She is on the ground and about to deploy the chute.
They are home safely!
Space.com TV provided some really interesting angles of the landing: from onboard, and from the ground as the shuttle flew over just before touching down.

Most kind. Those things don't usually need a reply, and I know people are interested. I just like to remind folks it's something they can easily do, since it's easy to get our mind cluttered up with daily adventures.
Speaking of the free show, starting Sunday the sightings will be in the A.M. for awhile.

While not the Shuttle, the viewing of the Space Station is in the mornings this week. And in a few hours, TWO views are expected.
And tonight's viewing of Saturn and it's Moon Titan, was very nice. So keep looking up.

Iffy skies this past week, with cloudiness and then storms of course. But I hope some local viewers saw the neat show Tuesday and Wednesday evenings?
The Shuttle had already separated from the Space Station, and each night featured both vehicles. The second night was interesting as well because of the increased distance between the two. Kinda sorta like watching Jupiter each night, and seeing the moons move around. Keep looking up.
