If you haven't visited Napoli's an Italian restaurant that is at the intersection of E.Exchange and Angel, stay away! I live in Lost Creek Ranch, and have been a frequent customer of Napoli's. On April 5th, I ordered food from their restaurant to be delivered to my home. After waiting more than two hours for my meal, and calling to check on the status of my order four times, the owner finally spoke to me on the phone. He proceeded to tell me that I was lying about ordering food from their restaurant, and screamed at me about calling so many times. He asked me to tell him the number that I called, and I told him. He did not believe me. I went to his restaurant to show him in the call log of my cell phone that I had called and placed an order. At that point, the owner had no response. I am very disappointed in my experience with Napoli's. They have decent food for a decent price. I hope that no one else will be treated with such rudeness and disrespect at this restaurant. I would encourage you to not even dine at Napoli's.

My experience with them has been completely different, however, I have to stress that we've never used the delivery service. I've been there many times - sometimes just with family, and several times with large groups of 20 or more. We've been well taken care of and got great food at great prices. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them.

I have had good service when I dined at the restaurant as well. The way I was treated by the owner himself was so shockingly rude, I just don't think I will ever be able to give my monetary support to his restaurant. My family owned a business in Austin for over 20 years, and never did we have an encounter with a customer like I had with Napoli's, and one thing you learn when you own a business is that not every customer is going to be polite and appreciative of your services. I am disappointed in the owner's behavior, and I feel that being a loyal and frequent customer, I deserve to be treated with more respect and kindness than was given that particular day. I am glad that you have had a positive experience at Napoli's. I can see where a family would enjoy the restaurant.

I've never been to Napoli's, but I have to agree, the owner has an extra responsibility to be polite in any situation. I know I've had a few time when I did not feel like being polite and maybe I could have been nicer, but you must just plaster a smile on your face and keep on going.

I decided to give a try and went to Napoli's for the first time tonite.

When I went up to read the menu on the wall. The big guy I guess if that the owner came up to me and I said its my first time there. I was surprised when he asked me if I live around here. I said yes. I was giving a take home menu. I looked over the menu and then another guy came to me to take my order. I ordered a slice of pizza with three topping and a salad to go. I saw him wrote it down my order included the name of the three topping. While waiting, then saw a slice of pizza came out of the oven. I sat there waiting for them to get it ready and also included salad. It was sitting on the counter the other guys start working on other foods. I went up there and look at the pizza. I asked the guy is that mine? he said yes and I told him I dont see the third topping. He looked at the ticket and told the other guy its supposed to have another topping. He threw the third topping and alittle extra cheese. Put it back in the oven. dThen when I went to pay for it. The big guy was saying what the price was but I couldnt hear him. I asked him to let me see the ticket. He almost wouldnt but I put my hand out and ask for it to see the price. I saw him rolled his eye. I also looked again if all the topping was written on which it has. I dont see how the guy missed the third topping. I paid and felt the big guy wasnt very friendly. I then left.

If hes going to have the attidude, then someone who have the gut needed to talk to someone above him about this.

But I may give another try one day.

I still like Italian Villa and the people there very friendly.

If that's the service they give, then we aren't going to even give them a chance. We love Italian Villa and why mess with a good thing!

My wife and I have been to Napoli's many times as well as having had food delivered numerous times, never have we had a problem with their service. I recommend them highly, their food is good as is Italian Villa's. I love both places equally, just wish Italian Villa delivered.

I order from Napolis 2 to 3 times a month and have never had a problem. The owner once overcooked my pizza and HE insisted that he recook another and then gave me both. He has never been anything but super nice and friendly. Be aware that ordering for pickup, takeout, or eating in during prime hours 6 to 8 will probably include a delay, they get very busy.

What difference does it make if it is an order for take out or dine in? The orders come in one at a time and should be handled in the order they are received, so why should people who order take out be treated any different than those dining in? Oh, that's right, the people dining in leave a tip. Hmmm. . .

I love Napoli's food. I've tried many different menu choices that they have. BUT~ I am sooo sorry that you had that horrible experience with the owner of all people. That just sucks . I've had good service both ways. Last time though, the guy had to call me twice b/c he didn't know where I lived and got directions wrong(he must've been new-I just live 3 min. away! ). The first time I ordered from there, I actually went to pick it up and I saw this salad that looked so good. I asked what kind of salad that was and the owner gave it to me free for just for wanting to try it. The only thing I don't care for is their fried mushrooms, an appetizer I usually like to try at most restaurants. It was pretty nappy-tasted old. Otherwise, pretty good food! I wonder why he would ever think that you were prank calling him somehow-wierd one, I think. Maybe he got the number mixed up or was jsut in a bad mood. Either way, I would never go back there either, if I were you. That is rude behavior coming from an owner or anyone.

And when the delivery boy did make it to your house he almost got hit as he was leaving by some crazy lady in a small SUV! Oops! He should have used his blinker!

DeniseW...I always give a tip to delivery men and women. The night that this situation occured, it was hailing outside and I called to make sure they weren't trying to deliver my pizza in a hail storm. An hour after the storm I was still waiting. All this boils down to is treating customers politely...afterall we pay that guy's bills!

My husband and I have pizza from Napoli's 3-4 times a month. We always have had excellent service. Normally we pick it up but occasionally we eat it there. We LOVE their pizza - it's like the pizza you get in New York City..yummy!! I have tried some of the entres there and I prefer Italian Villa - especially the Chicken Murphy.

Agreed Merter, their pizza is the closest thing to real NY pizza around here, with the exception of Brooklyn's which is the best (although a tad pricey). Their entree's I find to be a bit too spicey for me, the tomato sauce is not very tomatoey (for lack of a better term lol), Italian Villa is better for entree's. I do like eating their entree's but sometimes that sauce pays me back later. :)

Napolis has good to great pizza, unfortunately their service is nothing short of horrible. We have had extermely S L O W service the last three times we have been there...and it just baffles me because the restaurant is not that big. Tonight, not only were the waitresses running around lost, the service was bad (again), there were no menus for us and they forgot to give us the Cannolis we ordered to go. I like their food, but due to their lack of service we will no longer eat there.

We have been there when they are busy, and yes, the service isn't always speedy. But I also remember that I'm not paying big dollars for the meal I'm eating. It's cheap and good, and I'm happy. We will continue to eat there. I've never had anyone act rudely towards me.

We stopped ordering pizza from there a while back because the last couple of times we ordered the pizza was only half cooked when they brought it. We actually had to put it in the oven and cook it because the dough wasn't completely cooked, and the ingredients on top weren't even warm.

Never had a problem with their service, but I only get take out. Their pizza can go from great (nearly as good as a NY slice) to bad (undercooked with a pound of salt on it). Mostly it is pretty good, but they definitely have a QC issue as far as the cooks I would think.

You should have told the owners. They are always behind the counter and I am sure they would want to be made aware of any issues. I love the family that runs the place. When I moved here in 2007 that was the first place we tried besides Allen Cafe. Have always had a good experience!

Wow RR ... is there a reason this post from almost 7 years ago is being bumped? We've had good service and delicious food there every time.
