Just a heads-up...Kroger is getting ready to expand to the East over the next 3 months. If you use the pharmacy, it's closing down starting this weekend through the completion of construction. The pharmacist said that they were expanding to make room for more specialty type stuff. Guess they are trying to compete with Market Street !!

Sorry...one clarification. I should have said the Pharmacy DRIVE THROUGH. The Pharmacy will be open on the inside of the store.

Thanks. I often drive around that way just to avoid the parking lot adventure.

Does this also mean they will "upgrade" their staff? According to many here, that store has personnel problems.

Ditto That!
It seems that entire store is run by 16 year-olds, but I must say that I'm pleased they are going to expand.
I wonder if there are any plans to add another strip-mall section to this shopping center, as they created entryway's on the East side of this plaza that are obviously intended to serve future businesses.

The east side could use a few more businesses so we wouldn't have to drive to the west for so many things. I hope it is a strip mall being added as well as Kroger's expansion.

Tawny - Thanks for posting this information. I saw the construction equipment out there moving dirt the other morning and was wondering what was going on. I was wondering if they were also adding some more small retail stores along that east side, but if Kroger is expanding that far out, it will be huge. Now as far as customer service; that needs an overhaul there. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, they really need to work on their personnel. I was shopping last weekend and the young man who checked me out didn't ask if I found everything and didn't say thank you. He just checked out my groceries and handed me my receipt.

I've already been pretty vocal about my opinion of that Kroger's employees in other threads so I won't go there today. At least Kroger realizes they need to step up the level of that store due to increasing competition in the area. I really thought the traffic in that store would decrease with the opening of the Exchange Kroger but it doesn't appear it has. I also hope the management of that strip center can also make a better effort to keep it cleaner. There have been many weekends when I've been there that the front of the center is littered with newspaper, grocery bags, food containers, etc. - just filthy!

Several strip centers have been built for quite some time on the east side. Apparently no one wants to lease on the east side. The ones that have finally begun leasing have taken over 1 yr. It would be good to lease what is existing as opposed to building new strip centers. Empty ones are an eye sore.

Other area stores are no doubt factors in expansion plans. This one may have been in the works for some time however. Actually, thinking about it, this store is well located to serve an area that includes Allen, Lucas, Parker, and Plano. Some people will only go to their favorite store, yet others will go to the nearby one.
The site always appeared like it was in anticipation of a larger footprint store. And yes I also hope they enhance their personnel, and personal approach.
