Summer Work
We are looking for an in-home care-giver/nanny to take care of both our boys. Hours would be 9:00 – 6:30, but are also open a little earlier or a little later. Gabriel also will be attending summer school part-time, and he’s also scheduled to attend VBS for 1 week in June - hours could be adjusted to start later during those days if needed.
We are definitely looking for someone who wants to be active during the summer and can help keep the boys active. We don’t want someone who wants to stay at home all the time but understand some days are great to do that too! (We would provide lunch and spending money each week for activities.)
Gabriel is our younger son and has special needs. He is non-verbal, but let me assure you that does not stop him in any way! He can communicate his wants and needs very effectively to anyone! He is very routine and schedule driven, and it will help this person a lot if they like to stick to routines too – you can definitely change up what you do, you just have to tell him you’re changing it up. He is almost potty trained, we have to have him on a schedule, and if you keep him on the schedule, he does just fine!
Zo is 13 and can probably be on his own alone from time to time, but we’re definitely not comfortable leaving the 2 of them home alone all summer. There may be times when we need you to take Zo to a friend’s house, or drive him some ice hockey centers & drop him off for practice or open ice time. He made the Allen JV ice hockey team and we’re not sure when practice is schedule just yet.
For the summer, I also envision (after you get comfortable with your surroundings and position), we would like for the nanny we hire to spend some time doing light housework, although Zo has a list of his own chores to do too.. We would just like for the home to be as clean as it was at the start of the day (Kids can make a mess!!) Example: things that are out of order, put away; kitchen counters need to be cleaned; that sort of thing.
