I've never heard of this place until they opened up in the Galleria. I checked their website and they are the first store in Texas. I think they're from the Northeast.
Anyhow, the food was wonderful! I got the small portions of everything and still had leftovers. It's a bit pricey for lunch $8-10, but I'll be going back again!

Five Guys is great--it could immediately become the best hamburger in DFW. I ate at one of the originals in Alexandria VA a couple of years ago and it was outstanding. I've read conflicting reports on how the newer franchise locations are doing, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the one here.

What's your opinion of Mooyah vs 5 Guys? I had a 5 Guys burger at one of their 5 original locations in NoVa and it was really, really good. Better than Mooyah--but I've heard that the 5 Guys franchised locations aren't quite up to par with the original locations.

I've frequented the Mooyah's in Allen and the 5 Guys at Dulles on numerous occasions. Both server great burgers.
I personally like Mooyah better.
If both restaurants were next to each which ever had the shortest line would get my business. You can't go wrong with either burger.

We tried Five Guys in Plano at Spring Creek the other day and decided we like Mooyah better. The burgers didn't seem to have as much flavor, something was bland about it, and I got it the same way I get it at Mooyah (minus the ranch, b/c 5 Guys didn't have ranch).
Although my boyfriend did like the option of the cajun fries, he said the burger still is better at Mooyah.

We stopped at a Five Guys recently and my boys seem to prefer Mooyah. They say that the fries are better and Five Guys did not offer shakes. I myself no longer partake of burgers so this is the opinion of a 12, 10 and 9 year old, so take it how you will.

I still haven't made it to Moo-Yah. I will have to very soon! I'm not a shake drinker but would like better fries than what I had at 5 Guys. Thanks!

My personal opinion on Mooyah's fries is that they are great if eaten hot, otherwise not so good. My boys on the other hand love them no matter what.

Just got back to work from eating at the 5 guys at Preston & 121 for lunch. Enjoyed both the burgers & fries. Would be great if they would offer combos.

I'm not sure they should be in the same category. In-N-Out is true fast food and you can get a large meal for $6. Five Guys will cost $10 and takes a good bit longer to get your food.

True Allen. It's kind of like saying Babe's is better than KFC. It darn well should be!

Well I left the Allen city limits today and found myself at 5 Guys. I liked their food better than Mooyah for a couple of reasons, first the buns didnt get soggy, second the burger was juicer and had more flavor, and third they used fresh jalapenos. I thought the fries were about the same quality as Mooyah, 5 Guys seemed to have a bit more crunch in them which I liked. The peanuts were a nice touch as well.

Went to 5 Guys for first time today (South Lake Shopping Center). One word: Mooyah....
Good stuff - but nothing that would make me choose one or the other...
