Is there a good or not so good chance for my child to get in to the 5 year old transitional program if we are not members of the church?

I have had 2 kids in the fives and there are usually a few kids from "outside" the church, so I think your chances are pretty good. I cannot recommend it highly enough! It is a wonderful program!!

IMO it is actually difficult or at least that was my experience. My son is currently in the 5's program but he just barely made it in. I think in years past it wasn't a problem but last year they were promoting the program, I heard for the first time, at the kindergarten readiness meetings held for the AISD and I think that made more people aware of the program and therefore there was more competition.

They have a lottery system that determines what kids will get into the program and the only reason I think my child was able to get in was that he had attended one of the 4's programs. If we had never attended any of the programs I doubt he would have made it. It's a wonderful program though so I hope everything works out for you.

Did you go to one of the meetings on Thursday? If not, contact the school on Monday. Registration is due on Thursday, Feb 5, by 9:00 am. I've also had 2 kids go through the program and will likely have a third next year.

I got an email saying that they had opening at every age group. You should give them a call.

I live in the Summerfield community and plan to enroll my child at St Jude rainbow days. My husband and i have a 9-6 work hours so cannot pick up our son if we were to enroll him. I want to see if there are any moms out there who have kids enrolled in St jude and who also live in Summerfield community and are interested in dropping my child off at our home after the program ends at 2. I'm more than willing to compensate for your time. Please PM if interested.
