Ok. This isn't the steamy novel of the month or anything, but I picked up a copy of this at Borders. This particular book is the super market survival guide about which foods are really good for you and which are bad and what the manufacturers aren't telling. us. There is so much information. The chapter on produce is enough to sell anyone on this book.
The author is David Zinczenko who is the editor for Men's Health Magazine. Yes, he has his own diet book also, but this little super market book is amazing. Maybe take a little time to relax at Borders and just skim through this book. You will walk away with alot of knowledge.

Here's the link to the Eat This Not That top 20 worst restaurant dinners - as shocking as the book, I'm sure.

Take the white flour bread off of the Hardies sandwich and eat away. Fat isn’t the problem.

There is also a weekly feature segment on "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet" on Fox 4 where they reveal the bad things we shouldn't eat, but offer healthier alternatives by showing what you could eat that is similar for the same amount of calories. But, you wouldn't want to eat all of the alternatives because it is so much food, a regular person couldn't consume it all. All of this information is very enlightening.

My hubby was just telling me about this book!

I am thinking I need to go pick it up!
My GF and I are in a friendly competition to loose weight the healthy way!

We live an hour apart, and get up every morning (18 days straight so far) and do a 45minute (or more) Wii Workout!! I have already lost 4 pounds!
Vrooooom.

You go girl!!! I am also trying to lose. So far so good. I will have trouble once it gets too warm outside. I don't like to sweat too much and no, I didn't choose to move to this hot weather area. Congrats on your weightloss!

mspam, where about do you live (you can PM me), maybe we can meet up somewhere and ride bikes, or walk a park or something later in the evenings once it starts to heat up? I actually love the warmer weather, I hate to sweat, but I will do it to loose some weight, we can do it together?

Vrooooom.

If y'all decide to start walking in the evenings, I would love to join you too. We started a pilot weight loss program at my office back in September, and I've lost 35 pounds. Some of us walk at the office on our morning break, but I really need to do more.

Your Wii workout sounds like a great idea too--keep up the good work!

cloggergirl,
Where about do you live?
I'd love to get a little walking group going! There are times I may not be able to join due to work, but I always have an idea of my schedule a few days before hand!
Vrooooom.

Sorry to be so late in my reply. I live along the boundaries of Vaughan Elementary off Cottonwood.
I have been walking the neighborhood and have a 1 mile route and a 2 mile route that I am trying to use. My knees are giving me problems right now and I think it might have a little to do with these AWFUL sidewalks we have around here.

cloggergirl - Ohhh, you're not to far for a meet up!
I'm Allen Heights and Main.

mspam - is that off Bethany?

We should start up a new thread as to not highjack this one.. and that way others can read and join in!
