For all of you who like good barbecue and "soul food," give Big Ray's Barbeque a try. They are a family-run business. They have plenty of meat choices (beef, bologna, chicken, ham, pork, hot links, sausage and turkey). Their side choices are made from family recipes handed down from generation to generation. The prices are very good and they have daily lunch specials. They get very good reviews on Yelp.com. You can find discount coupons on line @ allenonline.com.They are located west of the junction of McDermott and Main @ 400 East Main St. in Allen. Just follow your nose and the good barbecue smells. Best BBQ in Allen and maybe this whole area! Best ribs - huge, moist, and tasty. Wide selection of sides, and they're all good! Owner says his wife makes all the sides -- wow! Very nice people. Here's wishing this "Mom & Pop" place much long-lived success!

Great place to chow down on ribs. All the sides are fresh and very tasty. Camilla is a very sweet lady and wants to serve the best she can. Pass up the big boys and give a local place your support. BUY LOCAL!

My husband and I had a wonderful meal last evening at Big Ray's BBQ. The ribs and brisket are moist and flavorful with a great smoke flavor. I rarely want to obtain a recipe from a restaurant, however, the marinated carrots and the cornbread salad are ones I would love to get. Absolutely fantastic. We both love the homey and authenic atmosphere. We will be back!

My husband and I have eaten at Big Ray's BBQ several times. I have eaten their brisket sliced on a sandwich and it is very tender and tasty. I also tried their pulled pork sandwich and it is moist and tender. I love the flavor of their BBQ sauce too. My all time favorite side dish is their marinated carrots. They have a lot of the usual sides found at BBQ places, but occasionally she will put out a new recipe like cornbread salad which I thought was very good. It was the first time I had anything like that. This is a family owned restaurant that I hope the people here in Allen continue to support because they have really good food, friendly service and reasonable prices!
