Cyclone Anaya's is a Houston restaurant; I first ate there over 20 years ago in its older, less-fancy days. It has upscaled since then. It is the one place my homebody parents will drive across clear across Houston for. The food is very good.

Sorry Allen...not looking to lose or gain credibility. Just responding that there were other options. Agree - some of those options I listed may not be as good as Patrizio's. I will definitely be trying them again as I have tried the one at Park & Preston. I don't remember anything memorable about the place - it's pretty standard fare Italian - not much better than Macaronni Grill.
I guess I'll have to try Cowboy Chicken since others are raving about it. It's just that their online menu seemed limited. I guess if you do one thing well, you don't have to make a lot of other stuff...

We had desserts at La Duni at Northpark last week. Wow! They were awesome!! I can't wait to go back to try the food next time!! I do know that the La Duni at NP took forever to open. It was slated to open for like 2 years, and it finally did. Hopefully the one up here doesn't follow a timeline like that one.
My wife and I love La Duni, we used to go to the one on McKinney (Ave, not the city) all the time. I really hope this one thrives, as I find the food to be great, including their cakes. Since we've had kids we haven't had a chance to make it down there, so having a location close will be wonderful.

Your post has been removed.
First, I am sorry that you had these problems, I really do. However, you have broken numerous forum rules. Since you were obviously upset when you wrote this post, you probably didn't read the forum rules closely.
I won't go into each problem but note just this one:

If you will re-read the rules perhaps then you may want to re-post your message.
Once again. I am sorry for the situation that occurred to you and wish you the best in your day in court.

Are you saying someone was murdered at Dodie's at the VatA?

Spelling sometimes begins to slip when you spend $1000 per week at a bar!

Allen,
We have been through this before and this is the last warning!
STOP CORRECTING PEOPLE'S SPELLING ERRORS.
The poor guy that you are correcting obviously was very upset when he wrote his post. Plus, there is no spell checker built into these forums. Give these people a break.
Stop trolling these forums looking for errors people make.

Unfortunately, we can't all be perfect, though if you drive by the Venue at 12pm today, you'll see a red car thats as cloe to perfection as possible. I have 4 others sitting in my garage too, but darn it, no matter how many I buy, I still haven't found one that can spell. Hopefully, if I'm lucky, I'll find one as smart as you are some day.
Tell you what, you be the "Spelling Bee King"........ and I'll stick with being the "rich illiterate cisco dude who cain't spell worth a darn".
Deal? ;)

Prediction Time for Village at Allen & Fairview Restaurants:
Fairview:
3. Gloria's: Will do well.
Glorias? In Fairview? Been eating at Glorias for, what 20, 25 years. GREAT food, and bean dip to die for. Pollo Mexicana every time.
I know where I'm having dinner this evening.....

TDM,
Are you saying someone was murdered at Dodie's at the VatA?
Several stabbings, one a fatality...... Allen PD will confirm as will Fairview.
The transient nature of event goers in general along with the occasional "eclectic" performers at the Allen Stadium are the primary cause of the incidents. It's by no means a reflection of the clientele or defeciencies by property or facilities management. Dodies as well as Allen PD, et al, put major effort into security to ensure the safety of their patrons and they do an exemplary job. Unfortunately, incidents like that are unavoidable and occur everywhere in todays society, suburbia included.

I hope it's got a proper manual transmission and not a silly F1.

Well, with all the APD that have been on the site lately, they now know where your drinking and what your driving. Oops!

TDM,
I've been trying to find a story or police report of the stabbings and murder you say happened at Dodie's. I'm not finding anything. You would think something like that would at least make the local news blogs.

I was reading these, just moved to Allen a few months ago.. Pretty interesting. I went to dodies because someone had mentioned they had great cajun food. this one only had a few cajun dishes, but the other stuff we had was really good. i am surprised to find out about some stabbings because is looked like 50% of the people in there were families. should i truly be worried about getting stabbed ? ?
