I went a couple of weeks ago for lunch. I only had chalupa, no real food. service was great. friendly, and everything was ok. Food not so much. Nothing to brag about but , like I said I didn't have a real meal.

Visiting this place again about a week ago. Not sure I'm a fan. The service was way better than our first visit but I'm just not a big fan of their chips which seem extremely hard and dry.
IMHO, there are better places in town.

My 2 cents...
not the best Mexican food in town. The Bob Armstrong dip is good, but not life changing. The Red enchiladas weren't quite as New Mexican as they were billed (more canned sauce tasting). "Stuffed" zucchini was actually "cut in half" zucchini with meat piled on top as opposed to inside.
These are just my observations over the course of 3 seperate meals.
On my last visit(this weekend) I noticed a sign for one of the city council candidates in front of the business. IMHO it doesn't seem like the place I'd go for political advice. Also unsure how an owner who isn't an Allen citizen has any reason to stake a claim on either candidate.
Again, just my observations. However, all in all I don't plan on going back due to all the above.

Just a hunch, but maybe it's because they have a business in Allen. Again ... I'm just guessing here.

Seems like a small business owner could have a good opinion on a potential council person's ideas and attitude toward small business. If businesses prosper in Allen then there is less of a burden on residential property owners. There is a balance to be struck between wants and needs of residents, business, and government.

just a hunch
bus barn..
A political candidate running for local council....not their choice.
Trash Matts
Should try some K rations sometime. Anything that is served in Allen will win, including refried beans and anything Matt's serves

So I assume it wasn't supporting your candidate?

wow. the view from your thrones atop AO must be amazing. Seriously, to snipe at every piece of my post when it was simply my opinion (obviously wrong in your eyes) is sad.
I purposefully didn't mention the candidate, also whether or not I support them. I have voted in this election and the last, but the reason for my post here was to let others know this isn't a "Mexican food heaven" if they are looking for one. I don't think there is a good reason for any business owner who can't vote in an election to choose a candidate to support. It's like the people who complain but haven't taken the opportunity to vote for themselves. Again, just my opinion, which I'm sure will be destroyed in the next few posts by people with far more time, knowledge, and keyboard based attack skills than mine.

No ... opinions are welcome. My "just a hunch" was just a shot at being humorous. Sorry if it came across any other way.
But I do stand by the spirit of the post. They have a business in Allen so they have a right to promote a candidate even if they can't vote in the election.
That's my opinion.
Welcome to AllenOnline!!!
Judging by your AO name ... are you a cyclist?

thanks Al. opinions good. and that's good since we all have different ones. your's wasn't the main post that I took issue with. The others don't seem as joking or friendly. And I do agree that the politics belong elsewhere. It went along with my original review and was a factor in my thoughts. I'm done with it for now. Glad to be online in a community I've been a part of for two decades.
And yes, cycling is life (or at least a big part of it).

Fair enough.

I just took it up a couple of years ago. Didn't ride much in 2011, but ready to hit it again this year.

I don't give a rat's butt who's sign is in front of a restuarant if I like their food. I gotta try this place! Nor am I a foodie. Just know what I like and this place deserves a chance.

No offense intended...but there are countless examples of brand new members coming on here to post negative views and then disappear...given the council race in question and the support one is getting from a local group, and the example of some nut job signing up to make negative posts in that council race thread...it would be easy to draw a simlar conclusion. I apologize to you if that was a wrong conclusion.

My husband and I finally got to go to Matt's this past weekend and had lunch. We thought the food was really good and will return!
