I went there today for the first time, for Mother's Day and wasn't thrilled. Only reason we tried it is because of the Groupon deal and we went for lunch, no mention until the bill came that it was $34.99 all day including lunch.

First strike against them was the inattentiveness of the hostess when I called at 11AM to make a 3PM reservation. Problem number two, we get there and they can't find the reservation yet they called me while I was sitting in the restaurant to ask why I haven't shown for my reservation yet. lol Even though they said "reservation required" on the Groupon, we were still seated quickly without them finding the reservation.

Problem number 3, we get seated right in front of the stage where they had live music. Don't know who had the bright idea to have loud, live music on Mother's Day rather than low, piped in CD music so people could actually hear each other talk. lol Our waiter immediately moved us to another table, saying he himself couldn't even hear us.

We sit down to eat, have a nice salad and then the food came out. Unlike Rafain where you have to be rather quick on the card to flip it over if you have enough food on your plate, this place is extremely slow at bringing food around and there were times we were sitting there and our waiter had to get people to come by. Even though he asked them to come to our table, it still took several minutes for them to do so. Anything that he could bring to us immediately he did, credit to him.

I asked specifically several times for a certain meat to come back and it never showed, through the course of about 20 minutes of waiting. I gave up and we decided to have desert, surprise here was it was an extra charge not included in the meal price. Other places I'd been too had it all inclusive, it added considerably to three meals that were charged at $34.99 when we were expecting the $14.99 lunch price. No mention of the changed pricing was made known when we sat down. None of us felt we had gotten our money's worth of food sadly.

After my first experience there, I will not be returning. Too many balls dropped right off the bat to turn me off and then not getting the meats I requested several times, the price switch that we weren't made aware of, the loud music (which did eventually stop, thankfully) made for a forgettable experience. I liked the food but the service was very poor, for the price we'll stick with Rafain which is leagues above this place, sad too because this one is right here in Allen. :(

Have to say our waiter however was excellent, he did his job and cannot be faulted for the poor running of the establishment overall. Maybe they'll get their act together at the front desk, nix the LOUD live music when you're eating and speed up their service. The quality of the food is good but when I go there for a $15 lunch, I'm not going to be thrilled in a non-disclosed price switch especially when I left there still hungry because of slow service with the food. You can beat me once for the money but won't get it again from my wallet.

We went for lunch, the everything was simply wonderful. One of the best salad bars around. I would go back just for that. My husband was thrilled at all the meat choices and everything was done just perfect. We will be going back

It is great. The food is wonderful and the Brazilian beer is icy cold. The price is excellent.

There are basically 5 local Brazilian Churrascarias - Fogo, Rafain, Texas de Brazil, Master Grill and now this one. I think there can be no debate about Fogo being the benchmark for all of them.

From a meat perspective Braza is as good as it gets. The salad bar is not on a par with Fogo but it is solid and good. Service is not as professional as Fogo but Braza is new and that is probably a short term issue. The roughly $30 for Braza and about $50 for Fogo forgives a slightly lesser salad bar and weak service.

My experience with lunch was faultless. Dinner was a bit different. Still excellent food but the service weakened. The meat choices and the salad bar were more plentiful at dinner but the more expensive cuts were in apparent short supply. The filet made it once and despite requests it never reappeared. Promised lamb chops never appeared.

In the aggregate these are small disappointments. The bottom-line is great food, icy cold beer and a decent price point.
