We have eaten at Zen Chow twice in past month. It was excellent. Everything was outstanding. Very diverse, interesting menu with deep fry and stir fry. It is definitely more than the standard buffet, pre cooked menu. Everything comes out freshly cooked and hot. GREAT TASTE and SERVICE. Nice fresh clean atmosphere. Waiters are very helpful with suggestions and explanations. They have numerous sauces for each entree. Large service. Prices are quite moderate .

We tried Zen Chow on a stormy Friday when the water was turned off. Customer service was very lacking, but given the circumstances,what could we expect. And even though they had no water, they turned out some tasty food.

The restaurant was packed which is great. We took our food for take out and when we got home and started unpacking, I was amazed at how much food was there for what I paid.

You cannot feed three teenaged sons for $36.00 anywhere and have lunch portions left over. And yes, those boys were full.

This place is a great find. Good quality, good quantity, very fair pricing.

Shrimp tempura was cooked perfectly and tasted great and I don't even like tempura. My daughter had an egg roll that crunched when she bit into it. There was a lot of food on the plate and it all tasted great. The best sweet and sour chicken I have ever tasted. It too was very crunchy! Service was great. We took a long time to make up our mind they were very patient. Try it out as soon as you can!

I came here on a Friday night, and as good as the food is, I was surprised that it was sadly empty. It's a shame that everyone in Allen was apparently watching teenagers chase around a football and missing out on this little restaurant.

I'm not really an online review writer, if that tells you that I care enough to post my review in hopes of this little diner's success.

I never visited this spot in its former incarnation as a burger place, but if you didn't know that detail already, you would never guess what it used to be. Zen Chow is ambient with dim lighting, hanging lamps, and cozy booths and tables. Some cheeky but tasteful, well-done paintings adorn the walls, including a box of Pocky (Warhol- esque) and a cute pair of pandas.

I got the design-your-own plate with black bean sauce, veggies, and tofu. It also came with a bowl of brown rice. This was heaps more food than I was expecting- you will have leftovers. For you tofu-lovers, they really don't skimp, as Pei Wei and other Asian places have a tendency to do! And you have to love the price- $7.99 for a meal that would easily fill two people. (P.S. Use the Allen Online coupon, good through September 30!)

Our waiter was super friendly and attentive. As we stood outside the door checking out the menu, he peeked out and asked if we would like to try some Chinese food. Charming. :)

You might not expect a restaurant of this quality to be in a strip shopping center flanked by CiCi's, a laundromat, and a driving school. But don't overlook Zen Chow! Of the other Asian restaurants in Allen I've been to- Pei Wei and P.F. Chang's- Zen Chow is easily my new first choice.

Husband and I ate there tonight. I would say it's the best chinese food in Allen. I had the jalapeno chicken. It was very crispy, just how I like it, and the sauce was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent experience from entrance to exit. The food was delicious and the portions were large enough for us to get two meals out of them. Very high quality ingredients with perfect preparation. The meats were tender and the vegetables all had the right amount of snap to them. This is how it's supposed to be. Give them a try.

This is the best asian food I have had in a long time. This is gourmet/handmade food at fast chinese food prices. Huge portions, too boot! Everything is fresh, light, and delicious. The sauces are fresh made and tasty. I am so glad I found this place! Never seen such quality of food at these prices...and they deliver too! Please try them ..allen needs a restaurant like this! Im sure ya'll will love it as much as my family did!
