I've experienced both good cops & bad cops in Allen, as well as other cities. I have friends and family that are cops. It takes a certain type of charactor to "survive" being a cop and not become jaded and cynical. It's too easy to abuse the privilege of the badge. There are definitely cops on the street that I have gratitude for, but others that should turn in their badge and go do something else. When a problem is noticed, it is the responsibility of the community to bring it to the attention of a higher authority. Yes, they are a tight knit group - but I believe that overall they live to protect and to serve the community that hired them to do so.

Wha? Huh? Somebody mention my name? 
As difficult as that all was, we have nothing but good to say about APD through that entire ordeal. Collin County DA's office on the other hand was found lacking.
People's opinions of a PD are often determined by which side of the bars they're looking through during the encounter.
Political Correctness: A liberal idea that holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
