Is the city of Allen having a fourth of July celebration as it did in the past on Celebration park? I can't find any info.

They are having Allen USA but it is on June 30th not July 4th. Look at http://www.cityofallen.org/parks/AllenUSA.htm for more info.

We're planning on attending the June 30th celebration, which sounds like fun. But, does anyone have any recommendations for festivities nearby on the 4th (something that has fireworks, but not too many crowds - if that's possible!)?

Thanks!

I'm looking for something to do with the kiddos too. It's my 10th wedding anniversary but hubby is on a 7pm to 7am shift this week and next. :(
Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

Will work for shoes!

We're going to the air show at the Addison Airport. The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is putting on the show with lots of antique aircraft. We have been in their museum and it is fantastic, so we can't wait to see the planes in flight. Here is a link for details:

Here are some resources to help you get started planning your own July 4th celebration.

Keep in mind many area events will take place before July 4th.

I didn't say which day the air show is held - it is this coming weekend - not on the 4th.

We'll probably be out cooking out on our grill at home on July 4th.

Another event that is close by is the fireworks show out at Lake Lavon at Collin Park. It is on July 4th. It does cost a little bit to get in, but it is really neat to see fireworks over the lake. Bring a picnic, blanket, bug spray, etc.

I got a flyer in my water bill for the 30th celebration at the park. But what bothers me is that everyone (on the radio and TV also) refers to these places by their common names only known to those who have lived here for years. What about all the new people to the area who don't have any idea where Celebration Park is? Woudln't it be nice to have some kind of ADDRESS??!! And the 4 different names for freeways? How can new people avoid traffic jams if the sign says 75 and the radio is saying Central freeway (as an example)?? Sorry, just a personal aggravation!!

We just moved not to far from Celebration Park and I wanted to know if we will be able to see the fireworks from our house.

I'm right off Angel Parkway in the Round Rock division just south of Main St. (Travis Dr.)

More than likely, you will be able to see the fireworks. You just won't be able to see the entertainment prior to the firworks show - but you'll probably hear it.
